trump vs clinton

the presidential debate held on monday night had its ups and downs. it was a great experience and a huge turnout. the presidential debates aren't usually crazy, there calm collective and they try to get the message out there. but with the 2 candidates being who they are i think it was a completely different time. this time it involved a lot of back and forth and trash talk. donald trump is aggressive doesn't have a lot of facts, just sorta flows with it. hillary clinton is laid back, takes the hits, and she has no comebacks. st the end of all of this i think trump definitely came out with the victory, he was confident, he had a bunch of comebacks. he said things like you approved nafta, and many other things. trump found a way to get inside clintons head. she didn't know how to react to anything. she did things like play if off and that type of things. the moderator was brutal, he had terrible questions he was bias and was just a terrible speaker. i know for a fact that was the worst part. the back in forth action between the two candidates was good. it was interesting the different ways the two candidates wanted to compete and get there points across. clinton was defensive in many ways. she didn't want to get her hands dirty and get it done, she was laid back and scared. trump was aggressive, on top of her, didn't let her speak. this is the way to win. with no doubt trump won

Post speech reflection

So at the beginning I was nervous, but after all it was fun. I think after watching my video, I need to work on not getting so nervous and not being monotone. Seeing other people like Tommy have a lot of confidence showed me that you shouldn't care about anything or what people think. I think joey has taught me to confidence in the wya I talk, in ways such as being monotone. He has a big protectable voice. I think I'm good at looking around making eye contact. I think this was a good experience in regards to our first speech and getting out of our comfort zones. For next time I need to not worry as much as other people think, and use a big priectable voice

I am speech rough draft 1

What has influenced you in your lifetime, a couple things that have influenced me are my family, friends, experiences I've gone through, and of course social media. Hello my name is Jerrett overland. I'm 15 years old from Las Vegas. This is my first year attending Cheshire academy, I'm a sophomore and have enjoyed the school year so far.
I think social media has changed me the most for a couple reasons, first we're on our phones or social media most of the day so we're always around these things.
Secondly we as a society think so highly of "famous" people, and try to be like them.
Sometimes celebrities are great role models and teach you great things, but sometimes they don't.
When one has a role model, they strive to work harder, be a better person, and live life like him.
One person who has influenced me through social media would be Steven Stamkos, he;s humble, hard worker, and never stops.
He wakes up every morning doing the little thing, he has his priorities straight, he puts people before himself, and is humble. I try to wake up and do things he does.
Another thing that influences me a lot would be family and peers.

People who mean the most to us or become the greatest influences in our lives, we tend to do things that they do and follow there footsteps.

My hockey coach has taught me many things, I thank him and give him credit for a lot of my success, he has taught me to be humble, be a hard worker, and be yourself.

A big thing that influences us is our past. Good memories tend to stick with you and never go away. A Good memories is when we lost 6-1 in a championship game, and we got blown out.

We played the best hockey ever, we never stopped, they were just  a better team. After the game the coach and a couple players came in our Lockeroom and told us how good we played mad that we battled super hard.

That showed great character, and how humble that team is. They didn't take the game for granted.  The same thing could happened to bad memories.

Bad memories tend to be forgotten, but good memories stay forever.

We as people grow and tell those memories and past experiences.

Stories are usually past experiences good or bad.

These things have influenced me tremendously in my lifetime.
The things that influence in ones lifetime completely affects there life, it can help, change, kill, and make it a whole new world.

What I've learned

In public speaking and had a lot of fun and I have enjoyed the class.  The last couple weeks we have talked about our speech and the way we talk and other things regarding speaking in public. We have talked mostly about criticizing and fixing our speeches, we have learned multiple things regarding this topic such as being monotone, bad hand placement, Bad eye contact, and boring speeches, and the tone of an ur voices. Bad eye contact, boring speeches, and tone. I have a few struggles when i talk, I'm sometimes monotone and I some time say um repeadetly. I never noticed I did any of these things,  we discussed why and how I can fix these tings such as me being monotone, me saying ums, me swaying or bad hand placement.  We talked about a perfect speech and what it looks like, things to look for in a perfect speech are not monotone, loud and clear, not boring and has a sense of humor, and doesn't distract the audience. Other things we have talked about it our voices and tones. In one class period  you had us yell and talk loud saying the same thing and find the difference.   There is a huge difference between yelling and talking loudly, when you have a speech you should be talking loud and clear and have a projected voice. If we're too quiet the audience can't understan us and will loose intrest in what you're saying. I think I project my voice well and speak loud and clear. This class has surprised me and I thought this will be boring and lame, this is a crazy fun class, great teacher, and great students and atmopshere. I've learned a lot and hope and will continues to pay attention and learn more things.

INTRODUCTION

Introduction
Hi, my name is Jerrett Overland. I was bored and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm fifteen years old and play hockey. I have one sister, mom , and a dad. Both of my parents are doctors and they own there own business in Las Vegas. They are both chiropractors. My sister is thirteen years old and she is a freshman in high school, she goes to Bishop Gorman. She is a cheerleader and enjoys tubing and hanging with her friends on her free time. I also have one pet, a dog, named Gigi. She's a Maltese and she's the only reason I wanna come home everyday.
I started playing hockey when I was eight years old. I've been playing for almost eight years. You're probably wondering how and why did i get into hockey since I love in the desert. It all started when my friend named Niko invited me to his ice skating birthday party, and a hockey coach saw me skate and told me I should start playing. I started really late for hockey, but that didn't stop me, I trained hard everyday before school at five am every morning. The hard work and dedication got me to the travel team in only one summer of hard work and lessons. My mom always used to say it was meant for you to start late, and the timing was perfect, they needed one spot on the team. Since that moment I've fell in love with the game and couldn't see myself not playing it.
I played in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Storm for about 5 years. After I started to get older I realized I had to move away from home if I wanted to pursue my hockey dream. So since then, I've lived in 3 different states, Utah, California, and now Connecticut. Hockey has taken me many places and has taught me many things. It's my passion and my whole family understands what I'm trying to do. This past year I've been rewarded with many things, I got invited to attend the USA hockey national camp, which is the top 200 kids in the nation, get four training camp offers for the WHL, and of course have the luxury of making the team here in the beautiful campus of Cheshire.
Outside of hockey I love to hang with friends, spend time with families, listen to music, and workout. I enjoy traveling a lot, with hickey you don't get the luxury of traveling, me and my family try to take a vacation once a year. The past few years I've been fortunate enough to travel to Jamaica, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and multiple US states.
